MeL-Co® is a family owned business specializing in botanicals for over 33 years. Founded by a Ph.D. natural products chemist and a Ph.D. biochemist, we manufacture over 600 botanical extracts, steam distillates (hydrolats), and saccharomyces/mineral ferments for the personal care/cosmetic industries. We pride ourselves in developing long term relationships with our customers based on versatility, flexibility, short lead times, and custom order quantities.

Facilities:

Located in the heart of the Coachella Valley in California, MeL-Co® is vertically integrated. In addition to our distillation, extraction, blending facilities, inhouse microbiological and QC laboratories, we have outdoor and indoor (hydroponic) cultivation facilities. The Coachella Valley has a rich history of agriculture, and in addition to our own growing facilities we have strategic partnerships with local farms and orchards to supply fresh botanical materials.

Energy Consumption:

With over 300 days of sunlight a year, facilities in the Coachella Valley are ideally suited for solar energy production. MeL-Co® has a solar array of panels, which supply our energy needs.

Raw Materials:

We have long standing relationships with a worldwide network of herbal suppliers, and whenever possible we purchase certified organic raw materials. The bottom line is, if we can legally grow it, source it, or sprout it, then we can make an extract or steam distillate for you.
